NEK is seeking additional, highly skilled Law Enforcement Personnel (LEP) consisting of experienced criminal enterprise investigators in support of designated U.S. Army and Marine Corps units operating in Iraq and Afghanistan. Some opportunities exist for stateside LEP position for those with both extensive LE and management experience. Minimum LEP experience is from 5 – 10 years to be considered for any position within this contract. Border Patrol, Customs, Federal, Municipal and County LEP are encouraged to apply

The LEP positions range from supporting military headquarters in attacking criminal networks through the use of law enforcement techniques used to understand, identify, target, penetrate, interdict and suppress criminal enterprise behaviors. Certain assignments for LEP personnel will be at the discretion of the supported commanders, but will be focused to an area where the LEP expertise is employed to maximum effect. Some LEP personnel will support the commander and his staff with the collection, investigation, analysis, integration, and dissemination of information pertaining to criminal/IED networks. They will also assist with activities that target emerging trends and methods of operation in order to interdict and suppress networks associated with the sourcing, production, delivery, and emplacement of IEDs.

Skill sets: Specific placement within this program will be based upon the applicants past experience. However, the following are basic skill sets for all that apply:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to engage, brief and persuade superiors and colleagues regarding plans, recommendations, decisions, and actions. Strong computer literacy skills, focusing on the Microsoft suite of applications.

Counter Improvised Explosive Device (C-IED) operational or training experience is desirable.

Military experience is desirable and the physical and mental capacity to operate in austere urban and desert environments in Iraq or Afghanistan for a minimum period of 12 months with little respite.

For those LEP to be assigned at the Brigade/Regimental level and above will be required to possess, in addition to the above, the following attributes:

Minimum of ten (10) years of law enforcement experience with a Federal agency or major State/Municipal law enforcement department.

A thorough understanding of criminal intelligence and networks including organized crime, gangs, drug organizations, and/or public corruption.

Significant experience in investigations, interviews and informant source development.

Ability to support and assist in the compilation and analysis of information regarding complex criminal investigations and recommend specific investigative directions based on conclusions drawn from the analysis.

Ability to use link analysis, event flow analysis and activity charting to develop inferences about the intentions and vulnerabilities of criminal groups, their key individuals, their methods of operation and the extent of their criminal influence and scope; make recommendations for intelligence and data collection strategies.

Suitable for employment in a Top Secret/SCI security clearance capacity.

For those to be assigned at the Battalion level will possess the following attributes:

Graduate of a certified Municipal or State police academy.

A solid understanding of traditional criminal network structures, operating methods, and behavioral characteristics, relevant to organized crime, gangs, drug organizations, and/or public corruption.

Proven organized crime, narcotics or homicide detective/investigator experience with a large metropolitan police department (or equivalent State or County police department).

Eight years law enforcement experience reflecting experience identifying and investigating structure, methods, and behaviors of organized crime networks, gangs, terrorist organizations, drug organizations, and/or public corruption. This experience will be supplemented by a combination of other stated attributes including military service, task force assignments, language, bomb technician experience, forensic certification or expertise, and experience in utilization of sophisticated investigative or technical techniques.

A minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience at the lieutenant level (or equivalent investigative experience) within a large metropolitan police department (or equivalent State or County police department), involved in combating prominent criminal or gang network activities (or equivalent).

Ability to use link analysis, event flow analysis and activity charting to develop inferences about the intentions and vulnerabilities of criminal groups, their key individuals, their methods of operation, and the extent of their criminal influence and scope; and the ability to make associated recommendations for intelligence and data collection strategies.

Ability to plan, deliver and lead training on street-level counter-gang investigative TTPs in a major urban environment, including informant source development, field interview techniques, site exploitation (crime scene investigation), forensics, and biometric analysis to identify criminal network activity.

Physically fit and capable of deploying on street-level mounted and dismounted patrol activities with military forces in hostile threat environments.

Suitable for employment in a SECRET clearance capacity

Accepted individuals will be provided with excellent compensation packages that include outstanding compensation, insurance and monthly bonuses that accrue towards completion. Individuals that are accepted must be stateside and ready to begin training on or about July 2008 depending on the position. NEK and the customer will provide all training required to prepare qualified individuals for eventual deployment into theater.

Law Enforcement Advisors
NEK is seeking highly experienced police officers with extensive experience with gang and vice investigative experience to serve as Law Enforcement Advisors for a customer. The individual must be a seasoned veteran of a US Law Enforcement Agency and be capable of attaining a SECRET clearance. Qualifications include the ability to build rapport with other organizations, provide assistance in the analysis of intelligence and data with a focus on criminal activity, assist in the training of contractors and soldiers in the recognition of criminal activity and assist interpreters in the performance of their mission. Individuals with past deployments as LEPs or other LEA advisors are preferred.
Accepted individuals will be provided with excellent daily rates for this work ranging from $400 to $550 per day CONUS and from $650 to $850 per day OCONUS depending on the position with monthly bonuses that accrue towards completion. Individuals that are accepted must be stateside and ready to begin training in April depending on the position. Clearances must be active in order to be hired.
