I just stumbled upon this today, and thought it was pretty cool. This is definitely a great way to save some money, when you are overseas and wanting to make phone calls home, and using your mobile phone. If you get your friends signed up with Rebtel, and the country they are in is in the Rebtel community, then you can call them for free using the site. If they are not signed on, the calls are still extremely cheap. It beats the heck out of burning up your Iraqna phone card for international calls, when you could keep the charges on it for just local stuff. What is Rebtel?
Rebtel gives you a way to make international calls at low rates. We do this by getting your call away from your mobile network and onto the internet.
From there we can connect it to any phone in the world for you, for next to nothing.
So we give you local numbers for your international contacts, which you call as normal. You pay your mobile phone operator for a local call, and pay us a small fee on top of this for the international part of the call.

Do I need to install anything on my phone to start using Rebtel?
No, you just need to create a local number for your friend and start calling.
What is the difference between Rebtel and other VoIP services?
Rebtel is the only company that helps you turn local calls (or your inclusive minutes) into international calls. Our way of doing this is by creating local numbers for your friends in other countries. They can create local numbers as well if they join Rebtel.
How do I make a call?
Create a local number for your friend by following the instructions on www.rebtel.com. Dial the local number and wait for your friend to answer. Simple!

What’s a Smart Call?
Did you know that you can avoid paying any fees to Rebtel?
Call your friend on your local number. When your friend answers, ask them to hang up within 10 seconds, and call you back while you stay on the line. You’ll be connected after you hear a short sound. The international part of the call will be free. It’s sounds weird but it works.
Don’t forget that you also pay your mobile operator for local calls. (If you and your friend both have inclusive minutes with your mobile contracts, then these calls will be free.)
You and your friend must both live in one of the 40 Rebtel countries.

Can I use the 10 trial minutes to call anywhere in the world?
