Bounties: Reward For Info On Sgt. Kenneth Vann’s Death Raised To $127,000, Texas

Rest in peace to the fallen, and my heart goes out to the friends and family of officer Kenneth Vann. This death is of particular concern because there is some speculation that this murder was committed by a sicario from one of the cartels…’in the US’.  That is not confirmed yet, and we will see where it goes. It definitely has all of the elements of a cartel hit.

The other thing I wanted to bring up is that this bounty or reward has multiple funding sources.  But if you go to Crime Stoppers, or call them at 244-STOP, that is how you can turn the guy in anonymously and collect the reward.(I noticed they are using Tip Submit, and that is a good move) Crime Stoppers is becoming quite the tool for crime fighting, and I certainly hope someone comes forward with some information about this. Let’s catch this bastard. –Matt

Reward For Info On Vann’s Death Raised To $127K
FBI Offering $50,000, In Addition To $77,000 Already Raised

With the addition of $25,000 from San Antonio lawyer Wayne Wright, and $50,000 from the FBI the reward for information on the shooting death of Bexar County sheriff’s Sgt. Kenneth Vann has reached $127,000.
A nearly 25-year law enforcement veteran with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, Vann was ambushed and killed about 2 a.m. Saturday as he waited at a traffic light at Loop 410 and Rigsby Road on his way to a call.
The men fired multiple shots shattering the deputy’s passenger window and killing him, Deputy Chief Dale Bennett said.

The men fled and as of Tuesday afternoon, no arrests had been made.
“It’s very frustrating,” said Bexar County Sheriff Amadeo Ortiz. “We promised the family we won’t rest until whoever is responsible is arrested.”
On Tuesday, a sheriff’s spokesman said investigators are looking for a royal blue Ford F-150 pickup truck similar to the one pictured at left. According to the spokesman, the truck was seen leaving the intersection of Loop 410 and Rigsby around 2 a.m.
San Antonio Crime Stoppers, the Marshal’s Service, the Texas Municipal Police Association, multiple police agencies across Texas and Vann’s relatives have all contributed reward money for information leading to the arrest of Vann’s killers.
“There’s been an outpouring of support from the general public and we certainly appreciate that,” Ortiz said.
Vann’s wife is also a Bexar County deputy sergeant. Vann leaves behind two sons and a daughter.
Anyone with information on the truck or Vann’s killers is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 224-STOP.
The sheriff’s office has set up a Memorial Fund through Generations FCU. Any monetary donations may be made to the Kenneth G Vann Memorial Fund in care of Generations Federal Credit Union. P.O. Box 830968, San Antonio, Texas 78283-0968. Donations can be mailed or submitted in person at any Generations Federal Credit in the San Antonio area.

  1. Wondering when we as a country will wake up to the threat. Thank you for sounding the clarion Matt, unfortunately, not many are listening.

  2. Absolutely Jim. When the war crosses the border, and Americans are killed at the same frequency as Mexicans in this fight, then that is probably when folks will wake up. Until then, all we can do is prepare, defend our own families and neighborhoods, demand our politicians act, and continue to point out the obvious.
