PMC 2.0: Mobile Phone Applications–Feral Jundi Has Been Mobified!

You’re probably wondering what I am going on about now? Sorry, bare with me.  It’s called the future, and Feral Jundi has now been formatted for mobile phones.  That means if you have an iPhone or whatever, this blog will fit better and read better on your tiny little screen.  Or at least that is the goal, and I am looking forward to any input from the readership about how to make it better.

Don’t worry though, and I am not getting rid of the web presence here.  It’s just that mobile phones are increasingly the preferred method for reading this stuff these days, and FJ must evolve.  A lot of the emails I get from folks, are all done through phones, and it is important to go with the flow on this and take advantage of this technology and cultural shift.

Plus, I want to be that site you pull up while you are waiting at the doctor’s office or bank, and I want it to be very easy for you to do that.  Your time is important to me, and it shouldn’t be wasted trying to navigate through several layers of internet and processing just to get to FJ.  That little bit of free time that you have out there, is the most significant aspect of this discussion, because people are using those little windows of time to do what they do normally at home on a laptop or computer.

Why is Feral Jundi going mobile might you ask?  Because that is the future, and this is where the industry will be going.  I am seeing so many contractors out there with smart phones, that a company or organization would be stupid not to take advantage of this.  I also think that companies would be wise to be creative with mobile phone applications, all with the idea of making your work force more efficient and more organized.  Most of all, these phones make your workforce more connected, and that is vital to the majority of today’s workforce, which are the millennials.

Here are some ideas. You could put together company policies, turn them into a mobile apps that can be automatically updated through the Internet and a wifi connection, and you could constantly keep your people informed and in the loop.  Emails could be done through mobile phones, and even some word and data processing could be accomplished. Company based social networks or payroll could all be done on the phone.

And if security is an issue, just look at the banks? They put out mobile phone apps, so why not companies?

Guys can have GPS on their phones, and you could even do a flight tracker so you won’t be late for flights.  Hell, even Surefire produced a shot clock for shooting, all on a mobile phone application for iPhone.  How cool is that, and I only see this market increasing for this industry. (thanks to Scott for the discussion today about this)  Everything should be available on mobile phone, and that is where things are going.  Don’t be left in the wake of innovation and modernization and get Mobified. –Matt

What is Mobify?

Mobile Web browsing is growing at an incredibly fast rate, with tens of billions page views shown on mobile every month. Mobile users are going to websites familiar to them, including yours! Some estimates put the share of mobile traffic at 20% for certain types of websites and it’s growing. Are you ready?

Most sites don’t work well on mobile. Long load times, incompatible content and difficult navigation can be frustrating to users. Site owners need to optimize their sites in order to increase mobile traffic and revenue. Creating a free mobile view, powered by MOBIFY, is the best way to achieve compatibility with mobile devices.

We created MOBIFY to take care of the mobile design issues websites are facing today. Why worry about new devices, browsers, screen sizes and content selection when we can take care of it all? Instead, focus on designing a beautiful mobile presence for your brand.

There is only One Web and several ways to present the content, depending on how the users access it. The power to make your site mobile is in your hands!
