Hello and welcome to the blog. My advice is to contact any security folks that have worked for Shell or ExxonMobile. Both of these oil companies have security folks working in Nigeria, and they could give you some good info. If you go on Linkedin and do a couple of searches, you should be able to find a few guys that have worked for these companies there. You could also try the forums and get a few hits for info as well. On the blog, just click on the category 'Nigeria' for all of the stuff I have. You can also read Steve Coll's book on ExxonMobile's experience in Nigeria to get an idea of what is going on there.
Matt, Thank you for listing the Black Ice yahoo group on your blog, but I think most of your readers would be interested in the Tier II group postings, not the local DC/NOVA guard scene. Point them to this page instead so they can choose the best group. http://www.blackicesecurity.com/joblists Thank you - great site! Steven Collins, President Black Ice Security Services, Inc.
Thanks Steve and I will make the adjustments necessary to point people in the right direction. By the way, thanks for putting together such a useful and informative job service for the industry.
Matt, Great Website and insightful info. From Mark Semper Fi from FOB Spin Boldak Afghanistan ( Keep the powder dry & Shoot Straight)
Thanks Mark and have a great new year.

Great site Matt, hello from wet and windy United Kingdom , Regards Jonathan C.P.O.
Thanks Jonathan and welcome to the blog.
I like your story on this, it should be make aware of by the puplic but it's not. We are getting killed and injuried just by doing our jobs. I am just one of many injured contractors workers. Oct 6 2006 was the date of my injuires. IED got me, let me with 3rd degre burns on 30% on my body and lost of some nerves in both hands. T Christian Miller I think will remember me, he did the story on me and anther injured worker.
Rich, thanks for sharing and I will do my best to get the word out about the sacrifice of this industry. There are many guys like yourself that have been wounded who deserve much respect and recognition for their sacrifice.
Matt - hello and good morning - new to the site but wanted to chat with you regarding a maritime security issue that you discussed - specifically pay and experience - rather then write about it I was hoping that we could discuss viza telephone - thanks - Brian
Brian, please contact me through my contact page, because that is the best way to get a hold of me and communicate. Take care.
Hi Matt my buddy Trevor, clued me into your blog and I think i will be following you for both insight and a good laugh. I also get shot at for a living.
Welcome to the blog David and hopefully it can be a good resource for you in your career.
Hi Matt! I just want to thank you for your website and for your great service! I'm looking for a security contract job ANYWHERE, and I will not stop until I get one. Your site is certainly encouraging. Thanks again!
Thanks Cleo and I wish you luck in your endeavor. My advice is never quit and persistence is power. And once you get the job, save your pennies and be the guy that does things right when no one is looking. Be a leader, and apply continuous improvement to all aspects of your security contracting career. Pure jundism....
Hi Matt. New site is looking good. Look forward to catching up with you. SF. Jake
Thanks Jake and hope all is well.
