Jobs: Program Manager-Merida, Mexico

I apologize if this is not an armed security type job like I normally post, but because this is for Mexico, I figured I would promote it here on the blog. The Merida Initiative is one of those deals where contractors can totally get in there and make a difference if given the task. There is a war in Mexico against these cartels, and they need all the help we can give them.

This is also a great job to post to coincide with this recent article about the ramped up efforts in Mexico. In the article they discuss how contractors are a way to get US resources into Mexico, and bypass Mexican law that prohibits US military help. This actually reminds me of something that MPRI would be doing. Here is the quote:

Officials are also looking into embedding a team of US contractors inside a specially vetted Mexican counternarcotics police unit. Officials on both sides of the border said the new efforts have been designed to get around Mexican laws that prohibit foreign military and police from operating on its soil, and to prevent advanced US surveillance technology from falling under the control of Mexican security agencies with long histories of corruption.

Now of course this gig does not at all sound like they will be ‘embedded’ with counternarcotics officers. But if I find more jobs related to Merida, I will post them as I find them. I am not the POC or recruiter for this particular job, and please follow the link below if you would like to apply. Good luck. -Matt

Jobs: PSD Team Leaders, Iraq

I suspect this might have something to do with oil and gas stuff in Iraq. If it is located near Basrah, there are tons of oil facilities there.  Who knows, and perhaps a representative from G4S can come up and add a little more detail for the readership?

Also, it looks like this job ad is structured more towards European contractors. But that should not stop you if you are an American or other looking for work, and I still suggest sending a resume for this job if you are interested. I am not the POC or recruiter for this job, and please follow the link below if you would like to apply.  Good luck. -Matt

Jobs: DOE Q Cleared Security Officers, Tennessee

This is cool. The Pinkertons are one of the oldest security and investigation companies in the US. Although it certainly has not maintained it’s leading position as a PSC over the years. I mean these guys used to protect the President of the US at one point, and even acted as our original Secret Service and Intelligence agency. Not bad for a PSC?

Of course the Pinkerton Agency was also involved in a lot of controversial stuff back in the day. There is even a law on the books referring to the Pinkertons and the strike work they were involved with. Blackwater eat your heart out. lol.

And yet they survive to this day, albeit under the ownership of the Swedish mega-security company called Securitas.

Boy, if I could purchase this company from the Swedes and bring it back under US ownership, that would be awesome. If DynCorp or any of the US security company CEO’s or investors out there are reading this, please consider looking at this company. This PSC is a part of our country’s heritage and it should be US owned.

Besides, how cool would that be to see the Pinkertons rolling down the roads in Iraq or Afghanistan? It would definitely be a homage to the days when they guarded stage coaches or protected railroads in the wild west days.

Either way, if you live in Tennessee and are looking for a gig this might be your cup of tea. Especially for contractors overseas, because they are usually the ones that are most likely to have this type of clearance. Or even prior-service and government retirees. (Clearance Jobs is a great starting point if you are looking to take advantage of your clearance rating.)

I am not the point of contact or recruiter for this job, and please follow the links below in order to apply. Also, on the website at Pinkerton Jobs they make no mention of the DOE Q job. Once you talk to a recruiter, be sure to mention the specifics and indicate what exactly you are looking for.  Also be sure to check out their other jobs they offer in other states, if you are not looking for something in Tennessee. Good luck. -Matt

Jobs: Multiple Positions With AdvanFort, OCONUS

Ok, here is the deal with this one folks. After that last article I posted that mentioned AdvanFort, I thought it would be cool to put up an ad from their career section.  The list of jobs do not mention armed security positions, but I am sure they either have a database they are drawing from for security contractor positions, or they are subcontracting with another company. Who knows, but I thought it would be cool to at least put it out there for folks to think about and throw a resume at.

With my last post, there was a crucial piece of information that gave me the idea to put up a job ad for this company. Here it is: “announced that for the month of March 2011, the company completed a record 108 security missions, covering 127,000 nautical miles—a 35% increase in monthly escort missions compared to February, and a new milestone for the Company.” With that kind of surge in business, this is a company to watch. Although I cannot endorse them, and definitely do your due diligence with this company before signing a contract. I am not the POC for these jobs, and follow the links or use the email below to explore any work options with this company. Good luck. -Matt

Jobs: Team Leader For MPRI, Mexico

Very interesting. This is the first big advertisement I have seen for work down in Mexico, and I hope it is not the last. Although being that this is MPRI, you practically have to be a retired General to get these types of jobs. But it is a great company to work for, and they have lots of interesting projects around the world.

MPRI is also the go to company for this kind of training and assistance around the world, and I am sure their ITAR license was very particular with this one. I doubt these guys are armed, and I am sure Mexico and the company is intent on keeping these guys out of the lime light. I just hope the cartels don’t sniff them out and make them a target.

Either way, very cool and let me know if you pick up this contract or not? The assistance you provide will save lives and help the Mexican and American governments by making their counter-drug forces more effective. If you want to apply for this job, please follow the directions below and do not send me a resume or anything. I am not a recruiter or POC for this job. Good luck. -Matt

Jobs: Foreign Service Security Protective Specialist, OCONUS

This is cool. I signed up for job alerts with the DoS awhile back, and they sent me this one today. I have gotten other job alerts from them for all sorts of interesting stuff, but this is the first security related job. With that said, this would be another deal you could add to your job seeking machine.

Of course this job is geared towards my American readers, and that is the way it goes. And based on the DoS’s current plans with WPS, they are going to need a ton of these SPS’s to help keep everything running smoothly.

Also, don’t let the pay throw you off either.  With this kind of work, it is all about the over time pay/danger pay/post differential pay, and all of that can add up pretty nicely. I am not the POC for this job, and please follow the directions below if you want to apply.  Good luck and let me know how it goes. -Matt
