I wanted to post this one as a unique job to get into. This is a paracargo job or kicker job and you don’t see too many of these being advertised.
In the smokejumpers I used to partake in these types of operations all the time and they are pretty cool. Flying low and kicking cargo to the guys on the ground, up in some mountain range at some remote fire, is quite the experience.
As to this specific load master job, you would be working with a pretty unique aircraft (DHC 4T Turbo Caribou) and more than likely you would be working in Afghanistan. I did a post awhile back about FlightWorks winning an LCLA contract in Afghanistan and posted a video to go with it if you want to check that out.
My only advice to FlightWorks on this is that there should be some mention of the possibility of crashing or getting shot down, and that Load Masters and crew should be prepared for that possibility. Meaning they should have survival gear and weapons, and some background or training as a back up for that possibility. –Matt

Overview:
De Havilland DHC-4 aircraft. Employee will participate as a non-rated crew member on approved missions flown in support of an OCONUS US Government contract.
Responsibilities:
The Load Master is responsible for accomplishing all required Load Master (non-rated crew member) duties in accordance with FlightWorks policies and procedures to include existing company training programs. The individual will also perform duties in accordance with FAA, ICAO or OEM Regulations and other tasks required to service the aircraft. The employee must be able to read and write English, interpret and apply technical data and instructions in the performance of required duties. Load Master duties are performed under the supervision of the Pilot-Command and include but are not limited to, aircraft configuration changes to support alternate missions, aircraft cargo and personnel loading and unloading operations, passenger safety briefings and other tasks as assigned. In addition to the duties stated above, the load master will also accomplish the following.
OTHER OR ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform non-rated crewmember duties in accordance with aircrew training program requirements.
Plan and perform LCLA airdrop operations.
Plan and perform loading and unloading activities, compute the center-of-gravity position and ensure it is within prescribed limits at all times.
Ensure the cargo compartment is properly configured for each mission.
Verify and maintain a manifest for cargo and/or personnel.
Supervise and participate in loading/unloading operations.
Ensure cargo and passengers are properly restrained.
Confirm security of cargo and passengers as necessary.
Supervise passengers during routine and emergency operations.
Report any malfunction, maintenance or safety concern to the Pilot-in-Command.
Perform emergency procedure actions as required by applicable directives and/or the Pilot-in-Command.
Perform aircraft servicing duties including fueling operations, aircraft configuration changes as required.Qualifications:
The employee should have recent experience as a De Havilland DHC-4 load master or a load master on a similar aircraft. It is desired that the individual have experience with U.S. Army or U.S. Air Force aircrew training program. Familiarity with training provisions stated in AR 95-20 is desired. During training and throughout the employment period, the individual must demonstrate and maintain proficiency in understanding aircraft systems, components, and operating limitations as well as understanding and complying with regulations and policies and aircraft operations manuals. The individual must possess a thorough knowledge of FAA, ICAO, and FlightWorks International policies and regulations pertinent to the operational requirement. Employee must provide documentation of completion for any manufacturer‘s course of instruction, military flight training, licenses or job related certifications. Must have thorough knowledge of hand tools, hardware and equipment used in the re-configuration of the aircraft. Security Clearance is a condition of employment; Possess a current U.S. Passport or the ability to obtain one before assignment.Experience & Education
A minimum of five years load master and/or flight engineer experience on multi-engine fixed wing aircraft is required. A&P License desired but not required. It is desired that the employee has worked full-time as a loadmaster for the past 12 months. Five or more years of flight line experience are desired. High school diploma or equivalent required. Physical Requirements/Working Environment Physical Requirements: Loadmasters routinely participate in flight operations under harsh environmental conditions within a hostile threat environment.
Must possess and maintain a current, FAA Class III Medical Certificate.
Must be able to perform non-rated crewmember duties during mission operations on the DHC-4 aircraft without accommodation.
Must be able to run, walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for up to 12 hours per day and sit for up to 8 hour per day.
Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders and work stands.
Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
May be required to lift up to 80 pounds to height of 4 feet and lift up to 20 pounds to height of 7 feet.
Required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, fork lift, APU, etc. Work Environment:?Employee will be required to work and live in a potentially hostile environment, at remote locations and under austere conditions. Employee may be required to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances, under extreme weather conditions and rudimentary infrastructure. May be exposed to extreme noise from aircraft, hostile fire and other acts of aggression associated with this region. Individuals may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and work in close proximity to moving mechanical parts, aircraft and vehicles.
