Summary of Position:
The Walt Disney Company has an immediate opportunity for a Manager, Special Services Security Operations. This position is responsible for identifying vulnerabilities and developing and supporting physical security strategies to mitigate risk for business segments, and special events in all non-theme park security operations in the western half of the United States. Particular focus will be targeted toward the media network segment which includes cable, television and feature film productions. The role will also assist with new security initiatives addressing physical security and risk mitigation. The expectations of this position include close collaboration with key business segment leadership, global security partners, corporate IT staff, and sourcing and procurement personnel to ensure the safety and security of The Walt Disney Company’s assets and employees.
Primary Functions and Responsibilities.
· Identifies and partners with key business segment leadership in the western region to review and define physical security requirements for inclusion into the overall west coast security operations program.
· Implements appropriate physical security standards to support the overall Company security program strategy and policies.
· Develops standards, processes and tools for establishing and managing physical security requirements for productions, special events and other assets and measuring and reporting on the overall status and progress to the respective segment leaders in coordination with key business partners.
· Conducts security assessment visits to key company locations, production locations, and special event sites. Works closely with business unit leadership, law enforcement, and global security partners to identify a comprehensive security plan which is inclusive of security officer resources, credentialing, training and awareness, protective details, and security technology.
· Partners with enterprise regional security directors, global crisis management, global intelligence and threat assessment partners, and professional contacts around the world on security recommendations for on-location productions utilizing expertise on a standardized approach to security requirements.
· Composes management summaries related to recommended security plans for productions, special events and other assets. Provides briefings to senior global security management and business segment leadership.
· Supports the development of executive protection requirements for company executives including the implementation of protection details, personal security awareness, and training requirements.
· Recommend risk mitigation measures that incorporate best practices and ensures standardization across the company.
· Analyzes physical security assessment data and identifies and shares ideas to strengthen the security posture, reduce loss and minimize risk.
· Supports new department initiatives by establishing comprehensive action plans, timetables, and outcome measurements; obtaining and allocating resources; reviewing progress; making mid-course corrections.
Requirements
This position requires a high degree of sound, independent judgment and capability. The incumbent will provide leadership and innovative solutions to critical security issues around protecting TWDC reputation, intellectual property, physical and employee assets.
· Demonstrated ability to build internal relationships by partnering, influencing, and adding value within an organizational climate of diverse operational activities.
· Possesses strong functional knowledge of physical and tactical security and operational solutions to mitigate risk.
· Position requires business, technical or functional knowledge at the supervisory level.
· Possess risk analysis knowledge and ability to identify security risks that impact assets ranging from established facilities to remote locations.
· Possess strong project management skills in order to drive a new initiative or recommendation to success.
· Demonstrated skills to influence senior management.
· 5-10 years of experience with corporate security with at least three years of physical security and operational management experience.
· Experience within a corporate environment preferred.
· Experience with risk assessments and the implementation of physical security policies and procedures.
· The following certification is preferred:
o Certified Protection Professional (C.P.P.)
