Job Description:
The Industrial Security Specialist I (SDO) is assigned to the Security Operations Center. Responsible for maintaining physical security of all classified areas 24 hours, 7 days per week. Monitor and control personnel access to the classified areas, ensuring that all classified material (documents, media, etc.) remains in classified areas. Assist as required in the following security disciplines: Physical, Personnel, Operational (OPSEC), Technical and Information (IS) to include intrusion systems, fire alarms, radios and acts as a First Responder for medical and other emergency situations. Conduct security information presentations. Will work in an open environment where frequent and direct interaction and collaboration with customers and peers is ordinary.
This position requires working a non-traditional schedule – a rotating shift (4 days on, 4 days off – 12 hour shifts) – including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
This is a two year tour with multiple tours possible.
Position is located in Alice Springs, Australia.
Responsibilities:
· Conduct roving internal and external patrols
· Complete Tour of Duty Reports, Incident and Infraction Reports and General Reporting outlining other statistics such as reptile captures, classified waste destroyed and medical responses.
· Control of keys and combinations.
· Medical Responders (trained and qualified) in Emergency First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Defibrillator use.
· Collection of all classified trash.
· Ad hoc duties (handling of reptiles, working knowledge of the fire alarm systems and other related duties) as directed by the Security Manager
· Will be required to complete the Venomous Reptiles Awareness Removal Program
Basic Qualifications – Required Experience, Skills:
Requires a bachelors degree in an applicable subject, or equivalent work experience may be substituted for educational requirement.
The employee must work effectively with superiors, colleagues, and customers. The employee must exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and strive to maintain constructive working relationships.
Ability and willingness to perform in a hands-on role in medical events that can include trauma and serious injury.
Ability to formally present security information to audience.
One or more years experience using Microsoft Office applications (MS-Word, Excel, etc.)
Excellent verbal and written skills.
Must be willing to work a non-traditional schedule – a rotating shift (4 days on, 4 days off – 12 hour shifts) – includes working days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Individual and family must successfully pass medical and psychological examinations prior to being selected for the position.
Individual and eligible dependents must have the ability to satisfy requirements for applicable visas to work and/or reside in Australia
U.S. or Australian citizenship is required
Requires an active or current (active within the last five years) TS/SCI SSBI or Top Secret PV clearance security clearance.
Desired Experience, Skills, Knowledge:
A current and active TS/SCI SSBI security clearance or Top Secret PV clearance.
Experience performing in a security function.
Certifications in First Aid, Senior First Aid, Occupational First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Defibrillator use, etc.
