I haven’t heard much about Black and Veatch’s security related contracts. I have heard of the company though, and if you check out their career section, they have quite a few security related jobs flying in Afghanistan. Mostly management type gigs.

Primary Purpose
1. Assist in the provision of protection of the B&V KHP resources i.e. personnel, equipment and vehicles to achieve the required company standards of productivity as agreed.
2. Where deviations occur you are mandated to implement a remedial plan of action after consultation with the Convoy Ops Manager.
3. Report any deviation or incidents to the Convoy Ops Manager.
4. You are accountable for the equipment as issued by the Logistical Manager.
5. In the execution of your tasks you are to adhere to the stipulations of the B&V KHP SOP regulations, orders, and doctrines.
6. Deliver emergency medical services during missions.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
**This position is located in Kandahar, Afghanistan**
1. Assist in the tactical planning and execution of Mobil operation according to B&V KHP requests.
2. Assist in the close protection for clients during the planned missions.
3. Obtain the tactical command and control in the absence of the Convoy Ops Manager.
4. Identifies training needs in security related areas. Designing and present remedial training.
5. Assist in route reconnaissance.
6. Assist in the development of professional contacts with the local police, Military and security managers of other international organizations.
7. Assists with the revision of Static security policies and procedures.
8. Carries out threat assessments to ensure appropriate security measures.
9. Ensures timely and accurate reporting of potential trouble spots and disseminates relevant information to the Convoy Ops Manager.
10. Assist to atend to the administrative, welfare and quality assurance related issues for his team
11. Report any deviation or incidents to the Convoy Ops Manager.
12. Act as the emergency medical technician during the duration of the missions.
Minimum Qualifications
• Former military officer or Senior NCO with a minimum of two years in the private security sector in the Middle East or Central Asia
• English language capabilities at a native speaker capability
• Ability to obtain a security clearance and a CAC card
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse environment
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written
• Knowledge of engineering construction operations in order to more effectively communicate with all entities
• Proficient in using the Internet
• Knowledge of various computer systems (Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel and Outlook)Preferred Job Qualifications
• Ability to communicate in local language(s)
• Prior service in a U.S. military organization in a hostile environment
• Prior job experience as a Liaison Officer in Afghanistan
• Current final or interim Secret Clearance
