Synopsis of employment
The primary focus relates to all security matters within the British Embassy’s personnel employed therein. You will ensure the security and safety of all those for whom the UK government has a Duty of Care (DoC).

Competencies and Experience
You should have a military background and have significant experience in the security field. Experience of active service is a distinct advantage. You must be capable of addressing senior staff on a regular basis. You should be energetic, pro-active and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You should be capable of running a number of contemporaneous operations. He should be of even-temper able to cope with the stress of high-pressure post and retain the confidence of those under his duty of care and other organisations with whom he works.
You must be able to make correct appreciations, judgments and plans. You must be capable of gaining the respect and confidence of all members of the Mission. You must have credibility and the assertiveness and capability to persuade senior persons in the Mission, other organisations and the wider community of your judgments and decisions.
Your personal Qualities should have experience in managing complex emergencies and fully understand the security context of the UK deployment in the required areas. You should be able to work effectively and calmly under pressure in a stressful environment. You need to be able to think on your feet in rapidly changing circumstances producing sensible, judged solutions and provide the necessary leadership. You should have a collaborative, non-confrontational approach.
You should be capable of effectively administering and controlling the many elements of a complex security organisation distributed to the Major locations of the required operational areas.
