Job Description
Provides strategic direction and tactical management to ensure the physical security of associates, capital assets and proprietary information for the Company, and serves as an expert / adviser on these matters to other corporate units nationwide.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
* Maintains, improves and implements policies and strategies of corporate security, internal investigations, executive protection, workplace violence, technology-based protection systems, and contract guard force management.
* Maintains close oversight of all executive protection requirements providing pre-planning and intelligence information to appropriate personnel.
* Manage the companies Threat Assessment Program with Human Resources creating, implementing, and training the policies and guidelines.
* Coordinates ongoing review of existing security programs, and recommends and supports the development of new programs, as needed, at facilities nationwide.
* Provide consulting support and make recommendations to site management regarding appropriate, timely and necessary improvements or enhancements.
* Provides advice, counsel, and recommendations to Human Resources, Legal, IT, Auditing, and other corporate functions with respect to investigative and general security matters.
* Leads all Company affiliate security managers in North America to the common goal of fostering a broad enterprise approach to security excellence.
* Maintains a solid working relationship with local, State and Federal law enforcement and emergency response officials.
* Conducts investigations involving internal and/or external threats toward, or illegal acts against the corporation.
* Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.
Qualifications
Requires a B.S. degree in Industrial Security, Criminal Justice, Business Administration or a related field; 10 plus years of progressively responsible corporate security management experience, within an organization with multiple sites, with knowledge of physical security principles and threat/risk analysis methodology, corporate security practices in a Fortune 500 company, and state-of-the-art security programs and systems (access control, security lighting, system design, barriers, incident response, and investigative techniques); or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Certified Protection Professional (CPP) designation and active membership in the American Society for Industrial Security required. M.S. degree in Security Management, Risk Management or a related field preferred. Must be available for 24/7 response to, or coverage of assets and personnel. Must have ability to travel 20-25%+ of the time.
